  • How often is the product information updated?

    We update product information on a daily basis. 

  • Where can I report errors?

    Please inform us of any errors you may find by using the green feedback button on the product page.

  • What if the packshot is outdated or incorrect?

    You can use the feedback button on the product page to request new images. If the product is stocked at Febelco, the image will be available quite quickly. If the product is not available, a request is sent to the manufacturer.

  • What if the product package has changed?

    As soon as we receive the information that the product package has changed, our photography department has new packshots made. It takes 1 week on average to get the image online, provided the product is stocked at Febelco. If the product is not available, a request is sent to the manufacturer.

Tips for Healthcare professionals

  • Can I choose the products I want to publish on my website? Or do I have to choose a preset package?

    You can choose which products you wish to publish. We do not offer any product packages. If you have a subscription up to 10.000 products, you can choose which brands, or which categories you will offer your visitors. Did you surpass the limit of the subscription? Instead of blocking your site, we will offer you an upgrade. 

     

  • How to look up products on the online platform?

    • Search by category: look up and select one or more categories
    • Search by keyword: enter a keyword to find the product you are looking for. Beware this field only searches in the name of a product
    • Search by using filters: click on the filter icon next to the keyword search field

    TIP: Combine these three methods to narrow your search results 

     

    Tips when searching by category:

    • you can enter keywords to find a category
    • use the triangle to see the subcategories
    • select the category by checking the box to see all the products in that category (do not check the categories above because it will influence your result)  

     

    Search by BCFI category

    • click on the icon ‘filter’
    • click on BCFI category
    • fill in a keyword
    • use the triangle to see the subcategories
    • select the category by checking the box to see all the products in that category (do not check the categories above because it will influence your result)

     

    Search by active ingredient

    • click on the icon ‘filter’
    • click on active ingredient
    • fill in a keyword
    • select the ingredient by checking the box to see all the products with that active ingredient
    • TIP: on the product page you can click on the active ingredient or on ‘related products’ to see all the products with the same active ingredient

     

    Search by pill shape or color

    For now it is only possible to search by pill color. However most products have a pill image so you can see the shape.

    • click on the icon ‘filter’
    • click on color/shape
    • fill in a keyword or select a color 
    • go to the product page to see the pill image and check the shape

     

    Search by symptoms

    E.g.: ‘fever’

    • click on the icon ‘filter’
    • click on Indication
    • enter a symptom (e.g.: fever)

     

    Search for cheapest alternatives

    • Go to the product page
    • Click on ‘cheapest alternatives’
  • How do I get access to Medipim?

    Medipim is a professional database with up-to-date information of the latest medicines and parapharmaceutical or cosmetic products and is only accessible to healthcare professionals.

    • You are a customer: all subscriptions include access to the online database. Go to the contact form and ask for a new login if you have lost yours.
    • You are not a customer yet? The BASE subscription allows access to all the product and image information of more than 150,000 pharmaceutical products online. 
  • I would like to use the Medipim images and descriptions on my webshop. What do I need to do?

    • Choose the subscription that meets your needs: Pricing
    • You will receive an offer containing our terms and conditions by e-mail.
    • After accepting the offer, we will send you:
      • a login and password to the online database,
      • a key for the API and technical documentation for your web developer.

    REMARK: we do not grant access as long as the offer and the terms and conditions have not been accepted. 

Tips for Manufacturers

  • How to delete a description?

    • go to the product page
    • go to the description you need to modify
    • click on the settings icon on the top right hand of the description field
    • click on Update
    • click on the button Delete
    • click on OK
    • do not forget the other languages if available

    TIP: do you need to delete the descriptions of a large amount of products? Contact us to avoid having to do this manually.

  • How to provide import data?

    • Descriptions: ask for the template via info@medipim.com 
    • Images: always include the product code (e.g. EAN) in the name of the jpg or the png file. For example: ProductName-EAN3282770149319-nl-fr-en
    • Price lists: send us an excel file with the product code, the VAT rating, de pharmacy price (VAT excluded) and the public price (VAT included)
    • Ohter data
      • always provide the data in an excel file
      • include a column with the product code
      • avoid formatting, bullet points and semicolons
  • How to upload images

    How to upload images

    Before uploading images, make sure they meet the listed requirements

    • In Medipim: open the tab Media
    • Click on Add Media > Upload media
    • Select files
    • Upload feedback:
      • Green: upload was successful
      • Red: upload cancelled because the image does not meet the requirements
    • Click on ‘Upadate All’ to publish the images
      • Select the language
      • Publish: yes
      • Select Packshot / Productshot according to the image
      • Click ‘Update and continue’
      • Repeat for all the uploaded images

    Our content team is always available to help you upload images.

  • How to upload brochures

    You can attach a pdf document to a product page:

    • go to the product page
    • click on update and select Media
    • click on Add media and select Upload media
    • click on Select files and select the pdf file on your computer
    • click on Update
    • fill out the form 
    • Save

    TIP: link the brochure to several products by adding them in the field ‘Products’ at the top of the form

  • How to upload a video

    You cannot upload video files, but you can publish vimeo or youtube videos by linking the url to the product:

    • go to the product page
    • click on Update and select Media
    • click on Add media and select Create link 
    • paste the video link in the URL field
    • fill out the rest of the form
    • click on Create

    TIP: link the video to several products by adding them in the field ‘Products’ at the top of the form

  • The image upload failed

    Does your image meet all the requirements? See ‘How to upload images’. Is the image a jpg file? Is the image larger than 1500x1500 pixels?

  • How to delete images

    Images cannot be deleted. You can remove images from a product file by setting the status to published NO

    • click on the image
    • click on the icon for settings en choose Update
    • change the status to Published NO
  • How to add a description

    • go to the product page
    • click on Update and select Create description
    • fill out the form:
      • source: select your company
      • target groups: do not modify
      • languages: select the language. For Belgium always select Dutch (NL) and French (FR).
      • type: select a type in the drop down list
      • content: fill in the description. For Belgium always add a Dutch (NL) and a French (FR) description.
      • click on Create

    TIP: do you need to add descriptions to a large amount of products? Contact us to avoid manual input.

  • How to edit a description?

    • go to the product page
    • go to the description you need to modify
    • click on the settings icon on the top right hand of the description field
    • click on Update
    • modify the description
    • click on Update
    • do not forget the other languages if available

  • What if the packshot is outdated or incorrect?

    The healthcare professional can use the feedback button on the product page to request new images. 

  • How do I select the products my client wants to publish on the webshop?

    Products can be selected based on several criteria. By asking the client to make a choice based on a combination of brands, manufacturers and categories instead of product reference numbers, the product feed will be dynamic, rather than static.  For example: new products of the Avène brand will automatically be added if that brand was selected.

  • What if the product package has changed?

    As soon as we receive the information that the product package has changed, our photography department has new packshots made. If the products are not available, the manufacturer is contacted.

  • How often is the product information updated? How often do I need to synchronise?

    We update product information on a daily basis. 

  • How much time does it take Medipim to treat a product update and make the update available online?

    As soon as we receive a modification or update via our sources, we import the new data. Once the import is finished, the new data is immediately visible online and available via the API.

  • How do I get access to the product data?

    Thanks to the extensive API, the database can be integrated in any open or closed platform, such as a web shop, website or app. The only condition for using Medipim is that your customer is a healthcare professional. You will receive the key to the API as soon as your customer subscribes. 

  • Can I test the Medipim API before my customer subscribes?

    We cannot grant you access before your customer takes a subscription. However, you do have access to the technical documentation and you can also request a limited test account to get access to the frontend of the platform. That will help you understand how to link the API to your solution.
