Data sources and partners

Product information comes from more than one source.

A complete product page combines data from different sources. Manufacturers supply product information, while official registers, professional associations and specialist databases each contribute their own data. Medipim brings this information together, structures it and makes it available to customers in the pharmacy supply chain.

Each source adds different information

Each country has its own sources. In Belgium, for example, Medipim's product information combines data from sources including FAGG, BCFI, SAM V2, APB, PHARMA.BE, GS1 and VZA. Each source contributes to the database in its own way.

This may include product features, composition, packaging, identification codes and classifications.

Enrich product information with specialist knowledge

Does your non-profit organisation, patient association, knowledge centre or institution manage information on diabetes, pregnancy, asthma, sport or a specific patient group? That knowledge can be a valuable addition to the product information in Medipim.

A themed day or campaign week draws extra attention to that information. Through Medipim, it can also be available all year round in connected pharmacy software, webshops and other applications.

Medipim brings existing information together

Medipim does not create scientific or clinical information or write product descriptions. We process information supplied by organisations and databases, arrange it in a consistent structure and link it to relevant products. Medipim can take care of product photography itself.

Together, we can assess which data is useful, how it should be supplied and updated, and how customers can use it. We can also discuss a fee for sources that provide sufficient added value.

Frequently asked questions

What information can our organisation supply?

Product features, identification codes, classifications, descriptions, images and specialist information can supplement product data. Information about a single topic or patient group may also be relevant.

Does our database need to contain a complete range?

No. A source can also be valuable if it contains information about one product feature, topic or audience.

Does Medipim create product descriptions or clinical information itself?

No. Medipim processes and structures existing information from sources and partners. Medipim does take its own product photos.

How does a partnership work?

We discuss the information you manage, how it can be supplied and updated, and which customers can access it. We then look at how the data fits into Medipim's product information.

Who can use information through Medipim?

Connected wholesalers, pharmacies, software companies and webshops can use product information through the platform or API. Medipim does not supply it directly to consumers.

Can a fee be paid?

That may be possible by agreement. We assess the added value of the information for each source and discuss arrangements that suit the partnership.

Another question? Ask us

Provide or use product information?

Manufacturers submit their product information once. Medipim checks and processes it, so pharmacies, wholesalers, online shops and software providers can immediately work with usable data. No one has to look up, photograph, enter or correct the same information over and over again. That saves time across the entire supply chain.
